Szechuan pepper (whole)

Szechuan pepper (whole)  These small “peppercorns” are neither strong nor hot. They actually have a mild lemony flavor. Found in “Chinese Five Spice Powder” it is also used to flavor culinary oils and to provide a mild sweetness to baked goods. Found to be more flavorful if lightly toasted prior to being added to other foods.
